About BLOC
Dwight and Stephanie Young started BLOC Ministries in 1998 after working for years as youth pastors. They'd seen youth and adults whose lives and neighborhoods were broken and recognized that the vast majority of them would never darken the door of a church. So, BLOC was created to go to them – we build connections and safe spaces for students, families and adults to thrive in spite of difficult circumstances. Over the years, BLOC has grown to include over 20 programs where we encourage healthy, personal relationships that build hope, purpose and vital life skills through jobs training; residential programs for men, women and children; tutoring, character building, arts and sports performance classes for youth; jail ministry; street ministry for women stuck in sex-trafficking; and much more. BLOC is unique because we live where we serve. All of our 50+ full time staff live and raise their families right alongside those we serve. Additionally, our full time staff raises their own support (salary) as a missionary does overseas, through family and friends. So, with the exception of our back office staff, the funds we raise are spent on programing in the community.
We welcome your support of time and treasure as we continue to work to bring hope and help to our neighbors in Cincinnati, Knoxville and Louisville!
