Men's Ministry

BLOC Men's Ministry

BLOC’s Men’s Ministry is focused on building relationships with men in the community facing barriers like generational poverty by fostering spiritual growth, mentorship, and economic empowerment. Getting to walk alongside them while they strive to break cycles of addiction, crime, and instability. Many of the men we serve have lacked positive role models and are desperately searching for a different way moving forward but just haven’t found it. By sharing hope in brokenness through our faith in Christ, providing accountability, and empowering them to live for a purpose we believe will not only demolish these barriers but create a culture that will continue into generations to come.

There is a vicious cycle of incarceration through the community. In the mens ministry we take a Matthew 25 Approach inside of the jails. Jesus said, “I was in prison, and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36). This mission is at the heart of our Men’s Ministry. Through consistent mentorship and a Christ-centered approach, we walk alongside men One-to-One who are desperately looking for change.

What We Do

  • Teaching & Discipleship: We provide Bible studies, life-skills training, and one-on-one discipleship to help men grow in their faith and develop leadership skills to empower them to serve their families, work places, and communities.
  • Reentry Support: Many men leave jail with no job, no home, and no support system. BLOC helps men reintegrate by connecting them with stable housing, employment, and encouraging them to live in community by connecting them to local churches and programs within the ministry and community partners such as long term housing programs.
  • Jail & Prison Outreach: We visit, advocate, and continue discipleship inside of the county jail and multiple other treatment facilities throughout the greater Cincinnati area. This keeps us engaged and provides spiritual mentorship for so many men in our community that are caught in this vicious cycle of repeat incarceration.

Breaking the Chains of Addiction & Crime

  • 85% of incarcerated men are in jail due to issues related to substance abuse.
  • The opioid epidemic has devastated Cincinnati, leaving many men trapped in a cycle of addiction, generational poverty, crime, and in turn incarceration.
  • Without guidance and support long term many men will return to destructive patterns upon release and go right back into these vicious generational cycles.

BLOC’s Men’s Ministry strives to equip men with tools to lead they families, transform their neighborhoods, and help empower them to sustain life change through relationship with Christ, accountability, and purpose.

A Future of Hope
BLOC Men’s Ministry doesn’t just aim for short-term change. We invest in one-to-one long term relationships that leads to heart transformation and not just behavior modification.  Through  jail outreach, mentoring, or reentry support, we walk alongside men as they rewrite their stories—not defined by their past, but by the hope of a future redeemed and living out their true identity in Christ.
