Farm to Table
Bringing Fresh, Affordable Produce to Price Hill
Farm to Table is BLOC’s urban agriculture initiative, located at our Horses on the Hill (HOTH) campus. Our
mission is to increase access to locally grown, affordable produce while providing hands-on learning
experiences in gardening, sustainability, and nutrition.
Our Core Goals:
- Fighting Food Insecurity: Offering pay-what-you-can farm markets so families can
access fresh produce at 50% or more below retail cost.
- Creating Sustainable Food Sources: Teaching urban agriculture techniques to promote
long-term food sustainability.
- Restoring the Environment: Engaging in conservation efforts, habitat restoration, and waste
reduction.
- Providing Job Training: Equipping individuals with skills in farming, food production, and
environmental stewardship.
Programs & Events:
- Family Fun Day on the Farm (First Saturday of the month April-November): A free event
with gardening, animal experiences, barn tours, and take-home learning kits.
- Farm to Table Field Trips: Hands-on educational visits for students (ages 8+), covering
gardening, harvesting, and environmental science.
- Pay-What-You-Can Farm Markets: Fresh produce stands held monthly at multiple locations,
accepting SNAP, EBT, WIC, Produce Perks, and traditional payments.
- Urban Agriculture for Schools: Bringing garden-based learning to students grades 1-8, with
interactive classes on farming, nutrition, and sustainability.
Farm to Table is more than a garden—it’s a movement to create a healthier, more sustainable, and food-secure
community.
