Weightless Anchor

 Who We Are

We are a daytime hospitality home, located in East Price Hill, that serves women stuck in the cycle of survival sex, substance abuse, and homelessness. We offer free laundry, showers, hot meals, new clothes, hygiene items, and most importantly love without a price.

What Volunteering Looks Like

You would sign up for a 3 hour shift to work each week.  During this time you will assist in keeping track of laundry, making food, cleaning, having conversations with women, helping them pick out clothes and most importantly building relationships with them. This is not for the faint of heart. Some days are heavy and heartbreaking while others are hilarious and fun. You will hear things you never imagined and see people at their absolute worst. And the most beautiful part is that we get to love them through it. *We only allow women into the house, including volunteers.

Hours

We are open Monday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm.

Location

East Price Hill: 962 Mansion Avenue, Cincinnati OH 45205

Let me know if you are still interested and available during those times to help out. If you would be available, we will have you come in to shadow to get to know more information about our ministry.  If you want to help, but aren't free during those times, let me know as we have many needs that don't always require being at the house during open hours!

Redeemed Home

Who We Are

Redeemed Home is a transitional living home for female survivors of addiction, prostitution, abuse, and other trauma, focused on healing and finding wholeness through Jesus. We value relationships and consistency, as we believe that great healing can come from Christ-centered relationships. We expect our volunteers to have the same values and understand that we are a faith-based program. It is important that our volunteers are aware of the handbook expectations set for the residents, and can do their best to uphold the rules, but ultimately our greatest focus is for strong women of faith to build meaningful relationships and become a consistent, loving part of the lives of our women at Redeemed Home. Each volunteer will participate in a mandatory one-on-one training with our volunteer coordinator in one of the Redeemed houses before covering a shift on their own.  Volunteers will sign up via online form (sign-up genius) and choose their shift(s) they are willing to commit to on a month-to-month basis. The level of commitment and frequency of volunteering is up to the determination of the volunteer, and we will not ask a volunteer to cover more than one shift in a day.  Prior to their scheduled shift, our volunteers will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator and filled in on any important details and events that are taking place during their shift. Each weekend, we have an on-call staff member who will be available to assist our volunteers by answering any questions they may have and being available in the event of an emergency or urgent situation.

What Volunteering Looks Like

Shifts are typically 4 hours. Must have a driver’s license, insurance, and a car.  Your presence in the house, to build relationships, take / pick up from work, run errands if needed, help prepare a meal, whatever is needed.

Volunteer coverage needed may vary each weekend based on the schedules of our residents. We are in contact with volunteers prior to their shift to let them know resident schedules.

    Who We Are

BLOC Sports Performance provides area middle and high school athletes with professional-level sports performance training in a Gospel-centered environment.
