BLOC Neighborhood HUB

I was raised by a youth/children's pastor and a stay-at-home mom/teacher in five different states. God carried my family through many trials as we lived in Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Florida. I have seen his love, care, and provision throughout every step of my life.

I came to know Jesus as my savior in my kindergarten classroom because of the love, compassion, and deep relationship my teacher showed us, through her love for Christ. At the age of 6, I walked up to my dad and said, "I'm going to be a teacher and a missionary." I know that it was at that moment that God called me to a life of service through the gifts He's given me.

In pursuit of the "teacher" calling, I attended the University of South Florida and received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2019. I taught first grade for 3 years at two different schools, but I knew that God's plans for my life expanded beyond public school education so I stepped away from teaching.

One night I was searching for "faith-based" jobs online and quickly stumbled upon BLOC. I immediately felt drawn to serve Christ in the Price Hill community with the After School Program. I accepted the position of Curriculum Developer/Teacher for the After School Program in November 2022. I am currently fundraising from my home in Florida, but I cannot wait to be sharing the good news of Jesus with the families of Price Hill when I am fully funded!

I am a self-proclaimed extroverted-introvert and love building deep one-on-one relationships. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I love spending time with kids (of all ages) and discipling them in their walk with Christ. I have a collection of crazy, colorful earrings (some I even made myself). I'm an avid reader (when I have the time), I am always trying new crafts, and at least 80% of my wardrobe is thrifted.
