Sue Dickens
Art Program Director
I was born and
raised in Marion, Ohio, a lovely small town north of Columbus. My husband Tim and I live in downtown
Cincinnati with our dog Stella. We have
two children. Our daughter Virginia
lives in New York city and our son John lives in Los Angeles. Now that Tim is retired, we enjoy traveling,
visiting our kids, and all that this beautiful city has to offer. I started
volunteering for BLOC in 2016 and I run the
Studio Arts Programs in the Arts Building in Lower Price Hill.
I love what I
do for BLOC because it combines two of my greatest passions - creativity and
children. What a magical combination! My vision for
my role at BLOC is to continue getting to know the children in the
neighborhood, the students at Oyler school, and grow with them by listening, laughing,
crying, teaching - and creating. The
possibilities are endless. I would also
like to see the Arts Building become a stable gathering place for the families
in the neighborhood. Right now it is
a work in progress, but I know that our BLOC family will continue answering the
needs and prayers of the neighborhood.
"Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you
into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for
you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." - Romans 12:2
