After-School Program

I grew up in a Christian home in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Throughout my childhood I got to see my parents do ministry and it influenced my outlook on Christianity. When I made my faith personal, I felt called to be involved in full-time ministry. I didn’t know to what capacity but through my studies in Business Administration in community college and Theology at Calvary Chapel Bible College, God showed me what I am passionate and gifted in. I love serving with youth and sharing how God has worked in my life. I got introduced to BLOC by a close friend in 2017. Since then, my passion for the after-school program has grown tremendously. It wasn’t until Fall of 2019 that I got an opportunity to serve and God allowed me to step through the door. In January 2020, I will begin my full-time partnership with BLOC After-School Programs.

I love being a part of a ministry that believes there is power in building long-lasting and fruitful relationships as a gateway to sharing the love of Christ. Personally, I came to know the Lord through intentional discipleship. I have noticed that the Lord has put me in many different situations and seasons in order to share the wisdom I learned through them with the people I am discipling. Everything I go through is for a reason. Our youth are being bombarded with so many different worldviews and opinions. This generation has so much potential but there aren’t many people spending time and effort with them, to help promote their growth. I was reached at a time where I was forming my own worldview, and it was crucial in my walk with the Lord. Youth ministry is so important in the Kingdom because they are not the future church, they are the church. I want to discourage the mindset of “oh when I am older, I can follow the Lord” or “when I am older, I can be used.” Time is not promised, and God is ready to meet you wherever you are at. I believe God will use my own youth, culture, and past experiences to impact the youth in Cincinnati. I want to share the reason I have been given many opportunities to exceed societies’ expectations is because of God’s hand in my life. I want to share this love and hope that I have received. With BLOC, I am able to give back in the way that I was poured into.
